Description

The aim of the research is to find out how the Slovenian public supports the positions represented by the Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Slovenia when discussing constitutional changes at the federal level. The special thematic survey is shorter than standard SJM surveys and focuses on current developments. Of the SJM's standard questions, here is an assessment of the options for exiting the crisis by changing the political regime, an assessment of the optimistic mood among people, an indication of prominent politicians, an assessment of the consistency of UK policy with people's interests, how good relations between nations are. Special questions concern the topics of constitutional changes (independence of republics, self-determination of nations, assessment and interpretation of the conduct of the Slovenian Assembly, financing of the YPA, the role of the Presidency of Yugoslavia, knowledge of the progress of changes, support for the calling of a referendum on the amendment of the Constitution and the announcement of a vote). Several questions are intended to assess the current situation in Slovenia in the period just before the political turnaround and independence (political situation, democracy, relations with the YPA, the process against the Quartet, cultural protest meetings in Ljubljana, the functioning of the Committee for the Protection of Human Rights, self-assessment of readiness to protest in the event of repression of political freedoms, support for the Slovenian political leadership) and developments in Yugoslavia (mits in Serbia, international relations, causes of international escalation in Yugoslavia). Minimum demographics are included.
