Slovenian public opinion 2022/2

Description

Like previous SJM surveys, this survey is carried out in the form of a standardized survey on a probability sample of adults. Slovenia. This year's SJM consisted of four themes (research): a) Longitudinal part of standard SJM questions (Public Opinion Mirror); b) research on attitudes towards and integration of immigrants; c) health and lifestyle issues; A study on brain health (Synapsis). The "Public Opinion Mirror" section mainly covers the following topics: satisfaction with individual aspects of life (including health self-assessment, assessment material situations of the household), interpersonal trust, assessment of the situation in certain social subsystems, attitude towards democracy, trust in institutions and value orientation. In addition, the following sets of questions were included in the questionnaire: questions on the war in Ukraine, questions on health and lifestyle through various aspects (from diet and physical activity to self-assessment of well-being and experience with Covid). The questionnaire contains There are also two additional content blocks. The first special block concerns attitudes towards immigrants and their integration. In Slovenia there is an area The civil and political participation of immigrants is poorly researched. The aim of the research is to explore how civil society and political Immigrant participation contributes to successful integration and to the creation of social cohesion. The project is carried out in collaboration with the Institute for Ethnic issues (lead by Dr Mojca Medvešek) and Faculty of Social Sciences. The second expanded block concerns a survey on neurological health: brain health. The questions measure knowledge of this topic and concern for brain health. Through a broader knowledge of the field of public opinion, one tries to search for solutions for better prevention of neuropsychiatric diseases. The original block of questions was created in cooperation with colleagues from the Faculty of Medicine University of Ljubljana and Slovenian Society for Neuroscience (SiNAPSA, Dr. Maja Bresjanac). Like all SJM research, this includes a comprehensive set of demographic issues (from gender and age to household composition, employment, professional situation, income, etc.).
