Psychological profile of the COVID-19 pandemic in Serbia, 2020

Description

Rapid population response and adherence to preventive measures are two of the most effective ways to limit the spread of infections in the early stages of an epidemic. The survey explores how people perceive information about the spread of the coronavirus, how well informed they are, and how they react to developments related to the spread of the novel coronavirus. More specifically, it talks about the extent to which they trust different representatives and institutions and how trustworthy they find the information they receive from them. In connection with this, the study also examines how these perceptions are related with actual and hypothetical (in the case of the presence of symptoms) observance of measures to limit the spread of the disease. The research focuses on the perceptions and responses of the population and their links to self-protective behaviour. However, because of its long duration, the COVID-19 epidemic is a lengthy process associated with dynamic changes in society and in people’s psychological responses and behaviour, the intention was also to examine the differences in perceptions and behaviours. the behaviour of people at different stages of the epidemic. The survey was therefore carried out in the form of daily measurements until the end of the state of emergency and additional measurements from March to August 2020. The data file is equipped with Serbian labels, where a syntax for the translation of the file into English is available among the accompanying materials. The data file stored in the ADP is final, and previous releases are based on preliminary data and therefore may occur to deviations.
