Political participation and equality in seven countries 1966-71
Description
The survey consists of seven parts, a database from six countries (Austria, India, Japan, the Netherlands, Nigeria and Yugoslavia) and a comparative international data file. The survey was conducted between 1966 and 1971 in seven countries, including the United States of America (US data are contained in the POLITICAL PARTICIPATION IN AMERICA survey, 1967 [ICPSR No 7015], and are included in an international file). The core of the research consists of questions on the topic of political participation in matters of local and national character. The questions raised concerned different areas of political participation: involvement in political organisations at local and national level, participation in formal and informal groups, the extent of contacts with civil servants, attitudes towards current political and social changes, and the general interest of respondents in political processes. This is followed by basic demographic variables. In addition, each national survey includes some specific topics.
