Spatial and environmental values 2004_2018

Description

The first research entitled "Spatial and Environmental Values" was carried out in 2004 by the Centre for Spatial Sociology (CPS) at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Ljubljana as part of the CRP project "Competitiveness of Slovenia 2001-2006". The key question was how conflicting common bring social, i.e. public development objectives, and individualistic, i.e. private, values closer to each other. The aim of the research was to determine how the population of Slovenia perceives the environment or the space in which they live and the processes in it. In the second survey, carried out in 2018, entitled "Public opinion survey of social Values on space and the environment: longitudinal study between 2003 and 2018", is a more detailed examination of the (in)compliance of national spatial strategies with the increasing reflexivity of individuals in relation to environmental beliefs and land use methods. A more precise measuring instrument has been developed to analyse the expected changing population preferences by dispersion or compaction of residence. The shifts in the value pattern of the population of Slovenia are discussed in relation to the trends of accelerated social differentiation in space and new lifestyles of living, work, mobility and leisure. The data file contains only variables. They appeared in both studies.
