Use of online panels in survey methodology, 2016

Description

The study is a systematic review aimed at assessing (i) the characteristics of online panels used in the survey methodology, (ii) the quality of these online panels; (iii) characteristics of individual panel studies and (iv) the use of online panels as a sample source for surveys on the quality of survey data. For the selection of empirical studies in the field of survey methodology, referring to web panels, the WebSM bibliographic database was used. In order to address research questions, they were used to describe the characteristics of web panels, as well as the purpose of their use. Web panels, defined specific encoded categories. In connection with the purpose of the study, various aspects of the quality of panel data were encoded for studies on the quality of the panels themselves, as well as methodological questions for studies using panels as a sample source for survey methodology research.
