Sociological Aspects of Migration of Slovenian Workers to Germany
Description
The project of sociological study of the migration of Slovenians in Germany included a survey of foreigners in 1974, a survey of pairs of Slovenian citizens who did not move to Germany, and this poll among returnees in 1976. Using the questionnaire, the researchers collected comparative data from a group of people who had been interviewed previously, so the questions largely matched those from the survey. The aim of the project is to explore the reasons for going abroad and returning, the characteristics of Slovenians who worked in the ZRN, their integration into the German working and living environment, such as advancement in the profession and education, knowledge of the language, how much they earned from home in Germany and where they invested the money saved, their habits. The returnees also reported problems after returning to Slovenia.
