Description

The aim of the research project is to analyse the existing Slovenian integration policy (covering the areas of economic, cultural, political and social integration) through a more detailed examination of individual sectoral policies (educational, employment, housing, language, cultural, minority/ethnic policy, etc.). In accordance with the recommendations and strategic guidelines of the European Union and on the basis of comparable studies carried out in other European countries, special attention is paid to the following topics: the right to family reunification, access to work and equal treatment at work, civil citizenship and the granting of rights to non-naturalised immigrants, and the prevention of discrimination and xenophobia. For the purposes of evaluating integration policies, systematic monitoring of public opinion is also crucial, as it enables feedback on the effects and (un)success of integration processes by the whole society. The focused opinion poll is designed as a specialized measuring instrument that enables longitudinal monitoring of views, thus obtaining representative opinions in Slovenia. The purpose of the opinion poll is therefore to obtain a systematic set of views and assessments on migration in Slovenia, integration of immigrants, multiculturalism, solidarity, social distance, level of discrimination and xenophobia, etc.
