Journalism in Socialist Yugoslavia and the Imaginary of Media through Audiences, 2021

Description

In the research, they were interested in how individuals in socialist Yugoslavia used media in their everyday context and how this use contributed to to the formation of collective imaginaries in Yugoslav society. The main purpose was to obtain first-person information on how and which media interviewees as members audiences used in this historical period, how they perceived journalists and journalistic reporting, how much they trusted him, to what extent they were critical of media content and how they connected the wider Yugoslav society was perceived by the media. The aim of the research was to gain a first-person insight into the practices of audiences through memory research and thus enable a better understanding of the functioning of The media in this historical period. The research was carried out in the academic year 2020/2021 as part of the History of Journalism course at the undergraduate study programme Journalism (Faculty of Social Sciences).
