Comparative analysis of the Slovenian minority in Italy and the Italian minority in Slovenia
Description
The main purpose of the project was a comprehensive comparative analysis of the Slovenian minority in Italy and the Italian minority in Slovenia, as well as an analysis of the importance and role of the Slovenian minority in the creation of a unified cultural space. To this end, the numerous and diverse dimensions of minority issues were examined, namely: 1) the level and quality of contact of minorities with the parent ethnicity and the state, 2) the nature of inter-ethnic relations in the living environment, 3) the level of satisfaction of members of a minority, 4) the level of internal connection and cohesiveness of smaller groups, 5) the level of permeability of ethnic boundaries (incidence of mixed marriages and contacts with majority and other ethnicities), 6) the level of cultural assimilation (as opposed to cultural pluralism), 7) the level and quality of cultural, political and economic organization of minorities, 8) the level of intolerance, nationalism and xenophobia in relation to minorities, 9) the role and position of minorities when abandoning the Slovenian-Italian state border.
