Public opinion survey on the possibilities of improving traffic regulation in Ljubljana, 2012
Description
This is the second (comparative) survey conducted as part of the analysis “Changes in the regulation of public transport in Ljubljana and the Ljubljana region”. The survey makes it possible to compare the data with the 2008 survey. The starting point of the research is based on the verification of the ability to maintain the relatively high quality of life in the city, while promoting sustainable transport solutions. To this end, it was necessary to subject the transport measures that were to be implemented in the future to detailed checks or to assess the level of legitimisation of project measures among the inhabitants who will be most affected by changes in traffic regulation. The key objective of the public opinion survey on changing the regulation of public transport in Ljubljana and the Ljubljana region is therefore not focused on the success of the direct implementation of formal, institutional measures in the area, which after a certain period of time may prove to be wrong, but on finding ways to achieve consensus among various stakeholders, which, in addition to the authorities (local and state) and capital structures, also include ordinary citizens. In addition to the general verification of public opinion regarding the adoption of new improvements in traffic regulation on the corridor, the survey also analyses the opinions of relevant social groups and provides feedback on possible improvements of envisaged measures, anticipates possible conflicts that may arise during the implementation of traffic amendments and, by calling for cooperation, conducts a section of opinion leaders by individual locations, who will be further involved in the process of improving traffic regulation on the CIVITAS ELAN corridor. The research consists of 12 thematic sections (Assessment of traffic regulation in Ljubljana, User satisfaction of LPP, Traffic and functionality, State and development of cycling, Delivery traffic, Measures Civitas Elan, Single ticket, Densifying taxes, Yellow lanes, Public information, Perception of the city of Ljubljana, Demography)
