Changing the regulation of public transport in Ljubljana and the Ljubljana region, 2012

Description

This is the second (comparative) research on the possibilities of improving traffic regulation in Ljubljana through the analysis of the perception of the condensation tax. The term "congestion charging" denotes various models of resolving road traffic congestion, through which road users (usually mainly users of private vehicles) are required to pay financial compensation for the use of a particular segment of the road network in a given, usually urban, area. The very concept of the hashing tax stems from the assumption that the use of passenger cars in traffic in specific circumstances can produce various negative effects - externalities, and monetary compensation in this context acts as a mechanism for internalising these costs or compensating for them. In addition to measuring the attitudes, opinions and perceptions of the respondents, the survey also examined the possibility of introducing a fee for entering the city by car, as well as other measures that should be implemented within the framework of the CIVITAS Elan project, and in particular the Park and Drive (P + R) system - parking areas on the edge of the city, primarily intended for daily migrants to the city, who should leave their personal car there and continue their journey with any other driving alternatives (city bus, bicycle). In addition to concrete questions on both topics, the questionnaire also included questions measuring other relevant sociocultural dimensions of both measures - from individual mobility preferences (driving habits, preference for possible transport policy orientations, etc.) to demographic structure (education, age, working status, etc.) of the surveyed population.
