Prevention of Armed Conflict, 2012

Description

The theoretical field of armed conflict prevention has not yet adequately answered how international organisations should approach conflict prevention in a particular conflict environment (what approaches, strategies and means to use) and how this kind of action of international organizations is perceived by the local population. The survey partially fills this gap; It focuses on the role of four international Organisations (UN, OSCE, EU and NATO) in Kosovo between 1999 and 2008. The research methodology was based on the interplay between qualitative and quantitative analysis: Analysis of primary and secondary sources, historical analysis, field surveys and interviews. 123 surveys and 33 semi-structured interviews were conducted. In the ADP, only data collected through a survey are accessible.
