Yugoslav Public Opinion 1990

Description

After twenty years of discontinuation of public opinion control, the Federal Government of Yugoslavia decided to carry out primarily — due to public reactions of economic and social reforms — a survey that would measure people’s affection, importance and success of the Federal Executive Council. At the same time, the Government of Yugoslavia wanted to establish the existence of fundamental changes in public opinion and changes in the positions of the Yugoslav people under the influence of political, economic and moral crises in Yugoslavia during the most ehement period of time. The aim of the research was to obtain valuable empirical data for decisions on the share and diversity of public support or rejection of government reforms. The researchers’ desire was also to establish the main guidelines for social change and possible outcomes in the social consciousness provoked by the widespread crisis of the time.
