Preparedness for evacuation in the event of a nuclear accident, 2012

Description

Although the probability of a nuclear accident is low, it is the responsibility of every community living and operating in the vicinity of a nuclear installation to prepare for this possibility.
To this end, a survey was carried out on the preparedness of the population, institutions and companies for evacuation in the event of a nuclear accident, living or operating in settlements located in the
a three-kilometer strip around the EEC. A field survey among the population and 12 in-depth interviews among the leaders of major companies and institutions were conducted. The main objective of the research is
to arrive at the most objective findings on evacuation preparedness in the Municipality of Krško and, on this basis, to make recommendations that could contribute to the improvement of planning and action;
in the event of a potential nuclear accident, in particular the rapid and effective declaration and implementation of an evacuation.
