Description

The survey was carried out as part of the Free University Week (15-19. 4. 2013). The aim of the research was to compare UL students on an international exchange (ADP_IDNo. IZMDOM13) with foreign exchange students at the University of Ljubljana (this survey) according to knowledge, skills and conditions for study. The main purpose of the research is to fill the gap in the field of research related to the monitoring of international exchange in Slovenia (specifically at the UL), since none of the institutions related to the planning or implementation of international student exchange collects such data, let alone analyses it. The purpose of this database is to enable a comprehensive analysis of the comparability of domestic (UL) and foreign students according to the knowledge and skills required for studies and acquired through studies, according to study achievements and study conditions. Based on the analysis of data, the most far-reaching goal of the research is to recommend the improvement of the planning and implementation of international exchange programs at the University of Ljubljana (and more broadly in Slovenia) with the aim of raising the quality of internationalization of Slovenian higher education and at the same time the possibility of building education as a component of the soft power of the state in international relations.
