Description

This ISSP research exercise focuses on attitudes towards the health system, personal health and health insurance. It asks respondents about satisfaction with life, trust in the education and health system, assessment of the health system and necessary changes, attitudes towards public health and assessment of the proportion of people without access to the health system. In the following, they respond to the causes of severe health problems, the opinion on alternative medicine and the general assessment of doctors. Respondents are also asked about their own health problems, the frequency of doctor visits and satisfaction with the healthcare system. In the next set of questions, they answer their habits of smoking, drinking alcoholic beverages, physical activity, nutrition, chronic illness or disability, height, weight and regulated health insurance. The demographic strand includes questions about the respondent’s age, gender, education, employment, occupation, trade union membership, religious beliefs, participation in the last election, elected party (left-right), nationality, household size, income, marital status and region of residence.
