Continuing Education Factors of Slovenian Youth, 1973
Description
The research includes data on the social background and family environment of pupils, their school success, extracurricular activities, interests, professional aspirations and educational aspirations, involvement in further education and success in continuing education, as well as results on skills tests (intelligentness and creativity), and personality tests. In addition, it also includes teachers' assessments, as well as pupils' mothers' views on their schooling, as well as data on their educational styles. These data are complemented and further developed at each stage of the research, with a distinction to be made; first the standard data from the Career Choice Survey and the results of group tests with mental aptitude tests, then the results of three different questionnaires and the creativity test ("Use of subjects"), the results of the postal survey on the success of continuing schooling and the results of the questionnaire on educational styles for pupils' mothers, and finally the data on participation in higher education. The research itself was preceded by a pre-examination comparing a group of pupils who had entered further education despite their relatively low intellectual abilities with another group who had entered and entered education despite their relatively high abilities. In addition to the above data, special attention was paid to the qualification structure of teachers in primary schools.
