Quality of measurement of egocentric social networks
Description
The purpose of the research was to study the quality (reliability and validity) of measuring the characteristics of bonds in egocentric social networks. It was expected that more sensitive questions would have a better quality of measurement over the phone (higher anonymity) and cognitively more demanding questions in a personal interview. Connections with nearby alternator(s) and alternator(s) providing emotional, informational and financial support will be measured in a higher quality. The quality of the measurement will also be influenced by some demographic factors (gender, age) and personal characteristics of the respondents. The scales for measuring personality characteristics of extraversion and emotional stability are Slovenian versions of the measuring instrument developed within the international project "International Personality Item Pool" under the guidance of Prof. Dr. L. Goldberg.
