Eurobarometer 73.4

Description

This Eurobarometer survey exercise comprises standard Eurobarometer indicators such as: the satisfaction of respondents with their current lives, discussing political matters and expectations over the next 12 months. In addition, respondents assess the current economic, employment and environmental situation in their household and country, in the European Union (EU) or in the world and identify the two most important issues they face in person, in their own country and in the EU. The questions also focused on the respondent’s knowledge and opinion about the EU, including if its country benefits from EU membership. In the second part, respondents are asked if the climax of the financial and economic crisis is over, whether it will be further strengthened, the financial situation in their household, the measures to address the crisis, and the reforms of the financial system. In the next set, respondents respond to the future of the EU and the ambition of a number of targets to be achieved by 2020. In the fourth round, respondents identify a number of statements related to globalisation. In the last section, respondents respond to their identification with their own country and the EU and the elements that would strengthen the sense of European citizenship. The demographic strand includes questions about the respondent’s age, gender, citizenship, marital status, occupation, education, left-right political self-assessment, household size, possession of a fixed or mobile phone, financial situation, social situation, Internet use, type and size of settlement, region of residence and language of the survey.
