Eurobarometer 72.3

Description

This Eurobarometer survey performance differs from the standard Eurobarometer indicators. Respondents answer questions within the following main topics related to attitudes towards health, behaviour and prevention: prevention, oral health, alcohol and smoking habits, organ and blood donation, sport and physical activity. As part of prevention, they answer questions about preventive medical examinations, provide an opinion on what includes healthy eating, their physical activity and the harmfulness of passive smoking. The oral health section asks respondents about visits to the dentist, eating habits, the number of natural teeth, prosthetics and their dental problems. They are then asked about their drinking habits, the price of alcoholic beverages, and the health problems caused by alcohol. The section on smoking asks respondents about their smoking habits, smoking at work, their attempts to stop smoking and the harmfulness of smoking. In the following section, they respond to their knowledge of the rules governing human organ donation and transplantation if they donate their organs or those of their family members after death, if they have ever donated blood, and if today transfusions are safer than 10 years ago. The last section on physical activity asks respondents how often, where and why they practice sports, what are the reasons why they do not practice more often and if they are members of the sports association. The demographic strand includes questions about the respondent’s age, gender, citizenship, marital status, occupation, education, household size, possession of a fixed or mobile phone, financial situation, social situation, Internet use, settlement type and size, region of residence and language.
