Description

This Eurobarometer performance differs from the standard Eurobarometer indicators. The respondents answered the questions within four main topics: poverty and social exclusion, social welfare, climate change and national economic situation and statistics. In the first theme, they answered what they define themselves as poverty, what is the extent of poverty in their area, what are the trends in growth or reducing poverty in them and around the world. social and personal causes of poverty and homelessness and negative impacts on poverty. The issues also concerned the risk of poverty for them and others, the importance of the government’s redistribution of wealth. social tensions between groups, trust and individuals, the reliability of institutions in combating poverty, the adoption of minimum living standards and an assessment of the level of homelessness in their area. In addition, they were asked about the ability to keep a job, the relationship between work and family, how they themselves help the poor, access to financial services, satisfaction with life and living conditions and income. The second theme, Social Welfare, included questions on long-term social care, child care, public employment, social housing and social assistance. The questionnaire focused on how respondents or others around them use social services, verified opinion on the quality and accessibility of social services, choice for the elderly and children, opinion on the advantages of group support and financing of social services. The third set covered questions about climate change, asked about the severity of these changes, government experiments, and personal actions in the fight against climate change. and the relationship between environmental protection and economic growth. The last set covered questions on the national economic situation and statistics. Respondents assessed the government’s growth share, the inflation rate and the unemployment rate, and gave an opinion on the importance and confidence in economic statistics. They were also asked about the employment and economic situation in their country. The demographic strand included questions about respondent’s occupation, age, gender, marital status; age at completion of education, household composition, ownership of a fixed or mobile phone and other durable goods, use of the Internet, financial situation, social level, membership of a minority, region of residence, type and size of settlement and language.
