Description

During this round, the Eurobarometer survey asked respondents about standard Eurobarometer indicators, such as satisfaction with the present life, or attempted to persuade others close to them to share their views on topics with strong opinions, discussing political matters, their expectations for the next 12 months and how they view economic and social issues in their in comparison to the European Union (EU). Further questions focused on the knowledge of respondents on The EU, including how well they are informed of what sources of information about the EU they use, whether their country has as a member of the EU, what benefits (or would it have benefited from becoming a member of the EU) and the degree of personal interest in EU affairs. Another major focus in the research is the privacy of personal data. Respondents were asked. of their knowledge of the rules and requirements relating to the protection of personal data, the ability of the State to protect access to data of various entities and whether law enforcement authorities should have access to personal data for the purpose of fighting against crime and terrorism. The second main focus of the survey was the national economy — respondents they asked about their personal financial situation and the situation of their nation’s economy, as well as asked to estimate the official growth rate of gross domestic product, inflation and unemployment; and compare those rates with previous or future years. Respondents also commented on the use of statistics, especially for political decision-making. In the last theme, respondents questioned of their interest in scientific research, including how information is presented by the media on scientific research and which media access information on this topic. On additional questions are respondents also asked about globalisation and EU involvement in this process, about the 50th anniversary of EU development achievements environment, foreign and immigration policies and chairing the EU Council. Demographic and other personal data they also include age, gender, nationality, birth (personal and parental), marital status, left-right political self-determination, occupation, age at completion of education, household composition, ownership fixed or mobile phone and other durable goods, type and size of settlement, region of permanent residence and language of the interview.
