Description
Description of the INSPIRE Download Service (predefined Atom): Statutory floodplains on surface waters in Hesse (designation according to §45 Hessisches Wassergesetz/HWG and §76 Wasserhaushaltsgesetz/WHG) for flood events, which are statistically to be expected once every 100 years. In the Retentionskataster Hessen (RKH, cadastre of existing and potential retention areas), all important watercourses in Hessen (4,778 km out of a total of 23,643 km of watercourses) are recorded. Retention spaces are the areas on the side of a river on which the water can spread during floods. These areas were secured by statutory ordinance or provisionally secured by the publication of a work card. The designation of new building areas is generally prohibited there. The construction of individual structures is also subject to restrictions, as is the handling of water pollutants. The basis for the recording is the calculated water level situation at a 100-year run-off. Due to geometric homogenizations of the property map that have taken place in the meantime, the digital overlay of the representations of the flood areas with the data of the property map may result in location deviations between the illustrated flood area boundaries and the location-identical parcel boundaries, if necessary at the time of establishment.
