The map indicates which recreational areas the province expects to realize
Aim
The realisation of recreational green areas in South Holland that:
- make a structural contribution to the quality of the living environment;
- be in accordance with the wishes of the inhabitants;
- be financially and administratively-organised in a sustainable manner;
- be of such a size that sufficient public (recreational) green space is available for each dwelling within a limited radius.
Deployment province
The province wants to set up 7 regional parks between the major cities. Recreational projects are intertwined between nature and open agricultural areas. 3000 ha still need to be acquired and 3700 ha set up for this purpose.
Bottlenecks in recreational routes (walking, cycling and boating) will be addressed and access from the major cities will be improved.
