Transport of German trucks (VD) — Annual transport of goods (VD4)

Description

The VD4 table presents the freight transport of German goods vehicles (trucks over 3.5 t payload and tractor units) on the volume of goods and for regional shipping and reception and is part of the annual performance statistics. For the volume of goods, the number of journeys, distance travelled, the weight of goods, the transport performance and the degree of utilisation in the material breakdown by type of goods are shown. The division of the goods is carried out according to the 20 NST 2007 divisions as well as grouped items and dangerous goods by class of dangerous goods. The annual volume of goods is shown in detail for each federal state (country of registration of the motor vehicle) as well as for total transport, inland transport, international transport, commercial transport, in-house transport and distance. For regional shipments and reception, goods weight and transport performance are shown in the product breakdown by type of goods (NST 2007 headings). The spatial division of the loading and unloading locations takes place within Germany at the level of the administrative districts of the federal states and outside according to EU membership (EU State, third country). The annual shipment and reception of goods is presented in detail for total transport, commercial transport and in-house transport. In addition, monthly key data are reported according to combined items of goods. Data collection for road haulage statistics is carried out as a sample survey in accordance with the National Transport Statistics Act (VerkStatG) and European Regulation (EU) 70/2012.
