Potentially shallow geothermal energy Rijnland Group contour
Description
Commissioned by the province of Zuid-Holland, the study "Potential geothermal energy in Zuid-Holland" was carried out by IF-Technology, 2 December 2016. This map shows the potential of the Rijnland Group. The depth of this formation increases in a southwesterly direction from 500 m in the northeast to about 2,000 m in the southwest. The potential for shallow geothermal energy (OGT) is defined as the amount of groundwater that can be extracted from the subsurface at a location to provide heat (flow rate in m3/h). Geothermal energy is also known as geothermal energy.
