Landfill gas collection 2018-2022 at Austrian mass waste landfills.
Description
This study looked at the collection and treatment of landfill gas at 48 mass landfills over the 2018-2022 investigation period. Subsequently, the time series, which was previously conducted from 1990 to 2017, was extended until 2022. In addition to the recorded and treated landfill gas volumes, information was also collected on the measures implemented by the landfill operators to increase landfill gas collection, as well as on the extent of temporary surface coverings, irrigation measures and arrangements to reduce residual emissions. The conclusion summarises the main findings as well as a brief outlook on the future development of the recorded landfill gas volumes and the measures to be taken by the operators in dealing with the remaining landfill gas.
