Cantons in the municipalities of Rennes Métropole
Description
It is a layer originally created by the General Council of Ille-et-Vilaine pursuant to Decree No. 2014-177 of 18 February 2014 delimiting the cantons in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine.
These perimeters will be applicable since the 2015 cantonal elections.
In the territory of Rennes Métropole, for internal problems of matching reference data sets (often more precise), the geometries of these cantons have been backed up to the polygons of the layer of the communal reference boundaries of Rennes Métropole.
This recaling was carried out according to a strict reading of the decree. The cantonal boundaries on Rennes Métropole may therefore be different from the original layer of the Ille-et-Vilaine General Council.
In addition, the cantonal perimeters on Rennes Métropole were cut by commune to form pseudo-cantons. To reconstruct the boundaries of the cantons, use the layer of the cantons of Ille-et-Vilaine (metadata uuid = 5e05c5f1-3690-4177-9210-661c9fa641bb).
It should be noted that the boundaries of the cantons in the territory of Rennes Métropole were retouched following the taking into account of the Unique Cadastral Parcellaire Representation (RPCU).
