Cultural landscapes of Pirkanmaa countryside 2016
Description
The material contains a presentation of agricultural areas with a view to landscape and cultural historical value of the regional plan produced in a survey of the cultural landscapes of the Pirkanmaa countryside. The material also includes the core areas of the building culture within cultural landscapes identified in the study. These are presented in more detail in the target cards of the report.
The study examines the history of living and farming in Pirkanmaa from the end of the 16th century to the 1950s. The Pirkanmaa Regional Council carried out a study on the regional plan 2040 as a separate study in cooperation with Pro Agria Etelä-Suomi ry’s MKN landscape services. The starting data were the country books and big division maps translated on top of the current map, the 19th-century keeper maps and the 1950s basic maps.
The material is suitable for general analysis. The material used at the level of municipal planning, master plans and other rural plans and projects should be specified.
