Description
This classification does not follow the criteria of classical river zoning (fish regions), but is based on the preferential temperatures of the fish species. The fish species found in the rivers of Saxony were divided into three groups of species (species of the Salmonid rhithral, Cyprinid rhithral and Potamals) with regard to their temperature requirements and the allocation of the fish communities / fish water type was carried out depending on their total shares in the reference fish cenos.
