Description
The data collection of the soil estimate goes back to the law on the estimation of the cultivated soil of 16 October 1934. In addition to the establishment of a fair tax base for agricultural holdings, the aim of the legislation was at the same time a general basic soil inventory for tasks of all other land use planning.
In the practice of soil estimation, drillstock samples to a depth of 1 meter are taken in a grid of 50 by 50 meters. Characteristics and properties of the profile, such as soil type, humus and lime content, hydromorphic characteristics, etc. are included. This is followed by a summary of similar individual boreholes to ground areas as well as the content documentation by area-representative determinant grave hole descriptions. The location points and area boundaries are documented on the field estimation map, the profile descriptions are recorded in estimation books. The data of the soil estimation are maintained and maintained by the Lower Saxony Surveying and Cadastre Administration in the Official Property Cadastral Information System (ALKIS). On the basis of the Soil Estimation Ordinance (Rounderlass des Niedersächsisches Ministers des Innern of 20. 5. 1970) have been published since the 1970s by the then NLfB soil maps on the basis of the ground estimate on a scale of 1:5,000 as a printed edition (DGK5Bo). With the introduction of the map server of the LBEG (NIBIS) and presentation of the ground estimation data in the map server, creation and printing of the DGK5Bo were discontinued.
In the estimation framework of soil estimation, the soils are divided into so-called soil classes according to soil type, state stage and formation. The class marks give an initial overview of the soil-type profile structure, soil development and water balance. The value figures of the estimation framework estimate the natural yield capacity of the soils on the basis of the Soil Estimation Act.
The LBEG offers a representation of the class marks of soil estimation as a map plot on a scale of 1:5,000 (BS5). The map plots can be obtained from the LBEG website.
