INTEMARES_SecoOlivos_Curvatura_Total_15m
Description
The information contained in this dataset is a raster with the total curvature of the study area, at 15 m resolution. Curvature is defined as the second derivative of the surface, or the "slope slope". A positive curvature indicates that the surface is convex upwards in that cell. A negative curvature indicates that the surface is concave upwards in that cell. A value of 0 indicates that the surface is flat.
The area covered by the data provided covers Seco de los Olivos (South Almeria, SCI ESZZ16003).
This set of information is calculated based on the original bathymetry.
The development of this set of geographical information began in 2012, thanks to the oceanographic campaign INDEMARES SECO1012. In 2019, this data was reprocessed with new software and new techniques and algorithms, improving spatial resolution and data quality.
The resulting geographic information is stored in a spatial database.
The reprocessing works have been financed thanks to the LIFE IP INTEMARES Project (LIFE-IP INTEMARES - Integrated, Innovative and Participatory Management for N2000 network in the Marine Environment - LIFE15 IPE/ES/000012). This integrated project has the challenge of laying the foundations to effectively manage the marine areas of the Natura 2000 Network and complete the work and progress promoted within the framework of the LIFE + INDEMARES project, which managed to take a great step in terms of declaring new areas.
