Description
This open source app is aimed at developers who want to work with the Wiener Linien real-time departure data server. It takes the 3 CSV files of Wiener Linien and converts them into a JSON array file with one dictionary per station. Redundant and irregular data, such as RBL numbers separated by ":", are corrected.
By linking the 3 files into a JSON file, developers can more easily and quickly write apps that want to communicate with the real-time departure data server.
The app is used for the "when" iOS app (http://subzero.eu/whenn). Since the "Viennese Lines Generator" is open source, it can be easily customized should a developer need a different structure.
If a developer does not have a Mac but would like to have the JSON file, it can also be retrieved directly via https://gist.github.com/hactar/6793144.
