National monument locks and weirs
Description
The map of national monument locks and weirs shows water-related works of art that are protected as national monuments. A point location can be a single lock or weir, or a lock and weir complex. Not all works of art are still in use as flood defences.
The map also contains many (historical) locks and weirs that are part of a defensive work, such as the New Dutch Waterline.
The map is based on the Register of Monuments managed by the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands. From the map you can click through to the Monuments Register where you can find more information about the monument.
