ThermoGIS is a public, web-based geographical information system that shows the regional potential of geothermal energy in the Netherlands on the basis of a number of maps of the subsurface. It shows maps of the depth, thickness, permeability and temperature of rock layers, from which geothermal heat can possibly be extracted. The potency maps show, among other things, what the flow rate can be, but also the temperature of the production water or the geothermal power. A workflow is used to create the maps.
