Geodetic reference points for checking a GPS receiver
Description
GNSS receivers (GNSS = global navigation satellite system, e.g. GPS and GLONASS) are used as navigation aid, for mobile phone location, for geocaching and for positioning photos and videos. GPS or GNSS receivers enable an exact determination of our position on the Earth’s surface.
For a long time, the navigation receivers depended exclusively on the signal of the American GPS. With the Russian GLONASS, the European Galileo and other satellite systems under construction, additional satellites are added that make positioning more reliable, faster and more accurate.
