Biotopes protected by law, 1. Continuity, total dataset Status: 2015
Description
Section 20 of the State Nature Conservation Act of 22 October 2002 in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania refers to legally protected biotopes and geotopes, which are defined separately in Annexes 1 and 2 to this Act. The “living spaces” listed and described therein are subject to special protection. Measures that may lead to destruction, damage, alteration of the characteristic state or other significant or lasting impairments are not permitted.
Section 20 of the Land Nature Conservation Act (LNatG M-V) makes certain biotopes listed in paragraph 1 subject to legal protection. All measures that may lead to destruction, damage, alteration of the characteristic state or other significant or sustainable impairment of these biotopes are prohibited. According to § 20(5) of the LNatG, the legally protected biotopes are to be entered in a register, the so-called ‘biotope directory’. The legally protected biotopes are recorded using the “guide for biotope mapping in the terrain”. The mapping has been carried out since 1996 and is carried out in circles.
The data shall contain information on:
— Location/Geology, Natural space, County/circle-free city, Municipality/City, TK10-No., used CIR aerial photographs
— Area size or line length
— Protective features
— Main, secondary and overlay codes according to biotope mapping instructions
— Vegetation units
— Habitats and structures
— Description and special features
— value-determining criteria, hazards, recommendations
— Location characteristics, usage features
— Information on plant and animal species
— documents used.
