Inspire WFD Register of Protected Areas — Salmonid Water regs Table
Description
This Dataset represents a Snapshot taken in September 2016 for the purpose of the WFD RBMP Cycle 2.
This is a table of the protected rivers that are designated in the Salmonid Regulations (S.I. 293/1988). WFD River Network Routes designated as Designated Salmonid Waters under S.I. No. 293/1988 — European Communities (Quality of Salmonid Waters) Regulations 1988, 14th August 1988.
The Council Directive 78/659/EEC of 18 July 1978 on the quality of fresh waters needing protection or improvement in order to support fish life and the Council Directive 92/42/EEC of the 21st May 1992 on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora was transposed into Irish law under the Fish Directive S.I. 293/1988 and Habitats Directive S.I. 477/2011.
