REDIAM. WMS Flows and CO2 stock associated with seagrass meadows. LIFE Blue Natura Project
Description
WMS service corresponding to the LIFE Blue Natura Project whose main objective has been to deepen the role of ecosystems associated with Posidonia oceanica grasslands (including other marine phanerogams) as significant sinks of CO2, both for the intensity of the sequestration of this gas in the form of organic matter, and for the millenary duration of its deposits. This project also aims to seek funding for the conservation of this CO2 capture service, through policies related to the fight against climate change.
The spatialized data obtained are of three types: Stock of CO2 in sediments in Posidonia meadows, Stock of CO2 in the aerial part of biomass, and flow or balance of exchange of Co2 in these ecosystems. Node of the Andalusian Environmental Information Network. Regional Government of Andalusia. Integrated in the Spatial Data Infrastructure of Andalusia, following the guidelines of the Cartographic System of Andalusia.
