Description
The product contains information on various elements and pH values in Swedish moraine, sediment and superficial soil. Analytical results were obtained using different analytical methods, both total and acid lactic levels have been determined. The product is the direct result of many years of geochemical mapping software. Geochemical mapping at SGU is mainly conducted for the purpose of showing the natural occurrence of major substances and trace elements as well as pH in soil and water. With regional soil geochemical mapping, moraine, sediments (clay, silt and sand) and superficial soils in particular are sampled and analysed, but other sample types may occur to a lesser extent.
Soil geochemical data are used in mineral exploration, environmental monitoring, soil research, forestry, municipal planning and medical research. As the sample type normally reflects the natural content of elements in the soil, the geochemical results can usefully be used as background information when examining contaminated soil and assessing water quality. With themes such as ore exploration, acidification, receiving protection and contaminated land, information in the form of maps and statistics and interpretation can be produced adapted to relevant areas of activity.

The amount of information on the samples, the method of analysis and preparation of the sample, the laboratory of analysis and the amount of elements analysed may vary slightly.
