Description
Floods Directive (Directive 2007/60/EC on the assessment and management of flood risks). The objective of the Directive is to reduce the negative consequences of floods by establishing guidelines for the assessment and management of flood risks.
The Floods Directive is divided into three levels:
1. Levels: Assessment and identification of areas where there is a potential significant flood risk or where it is likely to occur.
2. Levels: Preparation of flood hazard maps and flood risk maps in the designated risk areas.
3. Levels: Preparation of risk management plans for the identified risk areas.
In the 1st level, overall areas are designated and relate to sub-areas that can be flooded and where damage of more than 2 billion kroner can occur and where more than 500 addresses are affected.
