The data product ISA, belonging to the product group Processed Road Data Products (i.e. data retrieved from several products and compiled), contains speed limit according to traffic regulations and a flag for if the road section is a Gren (from the product
Route number), as well as a deviation marking indicating that the maximum speed is unclear for a distance. Distances which have such a deviation marking have been created on the basis of a discrepancy report in which someone, usually a vehicle driver, has noted that the speed limit of a road sign and the corresponding information in the on-board equipment does not match. Deviations reported, due to the difference between RDT and NVDB, are not recorded as deviations and are therefore not included in the ISA, as such deficiencies should be corrected immediately in the NVDB Speed Limit.
The purpose of the product is to support and inform the driver of the applicable speed limit.
The processed product makes it easy to access information without having to go to multiple sources with basic data. In addition to standard ISA data, the product can be used in business-critical applications, e.g. in car insurance where the driver’s insurance fees are affected by the driving mode. On distances marked as ambiguities, i.e. Deviation report available, applications may disregard the driving mode when the speed limit in the database is exceeded.
