Playgrounds in the city of Hamm
Description
The playgrounds and open spaces in the city of Hamm should offer all children and young people, regardless of restrictions or skill levels, a place to play and linger. Children and young people have the right to play, and the city of Hamm provides attractive, mostly barrier-free, places that promote and support joint play. There are currently over 260 playgrounds in the city of Hamm, which are divided into three categories: A, B and C. Type A playgrounds are intended for all children and adolescents up to the age of 17, with a focus on adolescents. Category B is for everyone up to the age of 13, with a focus on children who have reached the age of six. Type C playgrounds are designed for toddlers with a focus on children up to the age of six. The exact location and typification of these areas can be seen in the city map of Hamm. The play areas are planned and maintained by the Green Area Office. They are checked weekly to check the functionality of the play equipment and to clean the places. Once a month, the equipment is checked for wear and tear and, if necessary, repairs are carried out. The main inspection takes place every year. The playgrounds are supervised by the Youth Welfare Office (Jugendamt).
