WFS Agricultural yield potential of soil BB (WFS-BOERTRAG)
Description
The Download Service (WFS) Agricultural Yield Potential Brandenburg provides data on agricultural yield potential. A number of different input data are required to determine the arable yield potential (see Hennings 2000). Since many of these input data such as groundwater level data and waterlogging levels for this map could also only be derived from the surface soil shapes of the legend units, the route of the potential yield estimate was initially chosen for the agricultural yield potential map, as in the determination of the soil number of the soil estimate (see AG Boden 2005, p. 317 et seq.). The basis for these estimates of soil yields are the soil forms common to Brandenburg in their most common naturally occurring combinations (soil form societies). The soil shape is the combination of the identification of the soil development (pedogenesis) and the substrates (soil-related characteristics of the soil source rocks). From the overwhelming number of legend descriptions it becomes clear that due to scale, most areas are to be described as heterogeneous due to the soils involved. Accordingly, most estimates of yield per area are also differentiated. The legend units therefore show dominant and subdominant shares with different estimates of agricultural yield potential.
