FISH REEDS LEISURE ART NATURE CONSERVATION
Since the beginning of modern times, the interaction between the people in the surrounding villages and Lake Neusiedl has taken place on various levels and has changed over and over again. This Steppensee with its fish was initially food base, but at the same time was feared as unpredictable. His influence on the microclimate, the development of reed management, his conquest by the recreational society and, finally, its importance for nature conservation are discussed in this exhibition.
