Toward the Prohibition of Partially Hydrogenated Oils in the Canadian Food Supply

Description

Health Canada is proposing to prohibit the use of partially hydrogenated oils (PHOs), the main source of industrially produced trans fatty acids (trans fats), in foods sold in Canada. Although significant progress has been made to reduce trans fats in prepackaged foods and restaurant foods in Canada, there are some remaining food categories that may contain high levels of industrially produced trans fats.
