Inventory of built sites to be protected (based on ISOS)
Description
The inventory reflects the built site to be protected, i.e. the current image of the fabric to be protected, as well as the environments that are important for their backup. The inventory orders the fabric to be protected as a component of the built site, according to the three criteria of the inventory method: the built perimeter, the whole built and the individual element. For the built perimeter, it is the largest extension of a built site that can be perceived as an entity for its historical-architectural and spatial characteristics, as well as for its regional specificity. The whole built applies to a part of the built site that can be perceived as an entity, not only for its historical-architectural and spatial characteristics, as well as for its regional specificity but also for its pronounced contrasts. Finally, the individual element is the smallest possible component of the built site, bearing a predominant significance for its image. The inventory includes environments that are essential to safeguarding the fabric to be protected and which, therefore, are integral parts of the built site to be protected. Finally, the inventory of sites to be protected in Switzerland (ISOS) also provides disruptions, which indicate serious harm and threats that endanger the built site. Digital entry was carried out on the basis of ISOS paper maps, drawn up in the early 1990s. In 2011, the Federal Department of the Interior, by the Federal Office of Culture, published an update of ISOS in analog format for only built sites of national importance, in two volumes (A-D and E-Z). The ISOS perimeter entry was updated on this basis in November 2011, deleting old data for built sites of national importance. Only analog data published by the Confederation are authentic in terms of legal effect, accuracy and timeliness. For built sites of cantonal or local importance, no changes have been made, since the old maps remain valid.
