Guide map of Helsinki

Description

The Helsinki Guide Map is a generalized map of the Helsinki area produced for positioning and guidance purposes. The guide map is produced from the map data maintained by the City Measuring Services of the Helsinki Urban Environment Division by generalising to a scale of 1:10 000. The Helsinki guide map covers the entire area of the City of Helsinki, including the sea area. The data is produced with the help of the master map, address decisions, legally valid city plans, aerial photographs and other data sources. The datasets are constantly updated, the open data publication is carried out once a year. The guide map contains, for example, the following information: nomenclature, streets, roads and railway connections, public buildings, blocks of flats, detached house areas, industrial areas, forest and arable areas, nature reserves and municipal boundaries. In addition, the map shows the names of the districts and subdivisions, as well as some attractions and public services. The Helsinki guide map will be published as a raster image file in TIF file format. The raster image is positioned in the coordinate system using the TFW file and the TAB file. The guide map can also be downloaded as vector raw data (not imaging technology) via the WFS interface in both traditional GML format and vector tile geojson, topjson, utfgrid and mapbox vector. The material can be downloaded in several formats, including JSON, KML, CSV, Esri Shape and XML. The data of the interface services is constantly updated. TIF raster series are published about four times a year. **Coordination system(s):** - ETRS-GK25 (EPSG:3879). Maintenance coordinate system. Note: due to the generalization rate of the guide map, some of the names have been abbreviated, missing or the Swedish translation is missing.
