Pilot study for field examination of natural visual elements of the landscape and formulation of protection proposals

Publication of 2017 prepared TERRITORY, Analysis and Management of the Environment, SL that gives continuity to the works developed by the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning in relation to the landscape resources and visual structure of Andalusia: landscape landmarks, scenic backdrops, hidden landscapes, visual hori-zonts; as well as and visual characterisation of the equipment for public use for the enjoyment and contemplation of the landscape: trails and miradores.
This project arises from the need for a work of exchange that contrasts, complements and debugs its formulation, suitability and relevance for subsequent proposals of conservation and protection of them. That is to say, before taking any measure aimed at the protection of these visual elements of the landscape, it is necessary to review and control the data obtained through a complete fieldwork.
For this purpose, the present work is carried out, a pilot study that systematically checks in the field the validity of the visibility analyses (identification and characterization) developed in the cabinet from the Visibility System of Andalusia. The study area covers the Natural Parks of Los Alcornocales, Grazalema, La Breña and Marismas de Barbate y del Estrecho. This space also partially includes the Intercontinental Biosphere Reserve of the Mediterranean.
The publication is accompanied by the cartographic information and the list of images of the aforementioned landscape resources.
